So here I am, on my own, working for myself, and I seem to be a rather emotional roller coaster. Sometimes I head outside into the sunshine, pop open my laptop, and chuckle inwardly as I watch my former self rushing off to work with bloodshot eyes and no breakfast. I certainly don’t miss those days.
There’s a catch, right?
Other times, I can’t seem to focus. There’s too much information available from different sources and I get distracted easily. I end my day feeling slightly defeated, knowing I didn’t meet my daily earnings quota and as a result I’ll have to work twice as hard the next day. I long for the fluid, repetitive nature of my paycheck every 2 weeks.
It’s scary sometimes to realize that at the end of the day what you put in is what comes out. I currently have 2 of my original 5 jobs down pat, my Adsense portfolio of niche sites, and my freelance writing positions. Adsense is a nice padding to my income everyday, including some advertising on the sites I brought it myself. But it certainly isn’t enough to live on yet! Writing, on the other hand, has proven to be fairly lucrative, as long as the projects keep coming in. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a part time gig too, just to have steady money while I continue to build up my revenue.
It’s tough, sure, but hey I can always go back to the nine to five if it comes to it.
